Candied Sweet Potatoes


  • 4 pounds sweet potatoes
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup bourbon
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth

Preheat oven to 400°F. Peel sweet potatoes and slice into 1/2″-3/4″ slices. Place in a greased rectangular baking dish, in one or two layers.

Bring remaining ingredients to a boil in a saucepan. Pour over sweet potatoes. Cover with foil.

Bake for approximately 1 hour. Uncover and continue baking until liquid is somewhat thickened, about another 30 minutes.

If needed, cover again until serving, to keep warm.
